Tech Talk: A virtual cloud for researchers

Join us on December first when Martin Brandt, cloud consultant at SURF, will present the techniques used in SANE (Secure Analysis Environment). He will discuss the cloud infrastructure needs of researchers and which techniques allow them to handle all their unique requirements, from GPU needs to high memory workloads. Martin will also address how storage is dealt with within the SURF platform.
Martin is passionate about bridging the gap between research and complex IT infrastructure, specifically cloud-based. He has helped develop a project called Secure Analysis Environment (SANE), a virtual container in which the user can analyse sensitive data, but the data owner retains complete control.
